Relationship lessons/The four scores/Lesson 4
Where attention sticks
Emotional pull is higher when the elements match, next when fire meets air or earth meets water, and lower for the other pairs.
The four elements here are fire, earth, air, and water. Same element raises the emotional score because the two signs notice life in a similar weather. Fire with air, and earth with water, are the neighboring pairs: the attention is real, and it still has to be said. Every other pairing starts lower. Desire does not arrive as a free gift from the element.
A high emotional score is easy to misread as “we are obvious.” Obvious is how people skip the sentence. You feel the pull and assume they are tracking it at the same volume. Often they are tracking a different one. The score says the attention can stick. It does not say either of you has named it.
A low score is just as easy to dramatize. Low means the element does not do the sticking for you. It does not mean the week was cold, and it does not mean you should perform more feeling to compensate. If the week was warm, believe the week.
Try this
- Name both elements after a reading.
- Write one moment this month when attention actually stuck: a reply, a hand, a plan that survived the day.
- If you cannot find the moment, do not raise the score in your head to replace it.
Easy to miss: Using a high emotional score as proof that you no longer have to say what you want.
