Already over

The ex label raises friction. The pull does not reset to zero because the story ended.

People reopen a chart after a breakup to ask whether the ending was “written.” It was not. The higher friction number says collision was likely, and that old accounts re-enter through new topics. It does not say the ending was a mistake, and it does not say getting back together would repeal the collisions.

The useful question is narrower. Which sentence are you about to send that is really the whole file: three months of evidence, a closing argument, a request to be ruled innocent. The site’s third layer for a high-friction ex is blunt. Do not empty every old conclusion at once. Write one concrete event, then decide whether it leaves the notes app.

If you are using their birthday to feel close to a person who asked for distance, stop. A chart in your browser is private. A message that quotes it is a contact. Over is a boundary, not a puzzle the wheel is obliged to solve.

Try this

  1. Write the message you want to send. Mark every sentence that is older than the last meeting.
  2. Keep, at most, one event. Delete the rest for tonight.
  3. If they asked you not to write, do not send the one event either.

Easy to miss: Treating a reread of the result as contact they consented to.
